Common questions about AquaTrader
How do I post a listing?
Tap the + button in the navigation bar. Add photos, a title, price, category, and description. Your listing goes live immediately.
Is AquaTrader free to use?
Yes — posting listings and messaging sellers is completely free. We don't charge commissions or listing fees.
How do I contact a seller?
Open any listing and use the message box at the bottom of the page. Your phone number and email stay private — all communication happens inside AquaTrader.
How does the offer system work?
On a "For Sale" listing, tap "Make an Offer" to send a formal offer with a specific price. The seller can accept, decline, or counter. Accepted offers are confirmed in your chat thread.
What's a "Looking For" listing?
A Looking For (or "want") listing lets you post what you're searching for. Other hobbyists who have that item can reach out to you directly. It's a great way to find rare species.
How do I mark a listing as sold?
Go to My Listings, find the listing, and tap "Mark as sold." It will show as sold for 30 days and then be removed automatically.
Can I edit a listing after posting?
Yes — go to My Listings and tap the pencil icon on any listing to edit the title, price, description, photos, or category.
How do I save listings I'm interested in?
Tap the heart icon on any listing to save it to your Favorites. You can find all your saved listings under the heart icon in the navigation bar.
What are Saved Searches?
Saved Searches let you save a set of filters (category, keyword, price range, location) so you don't have to re-enter them every time. When a new listing matches a saved search, you'll get an email notification.
How do I delete my listing?
Go to My Listings and tap the trash icon. Deletion is permanent — if you want to re-list later, you'll need to create a new listing.
Someone isn't responding to my messages. What should I do?
Sellers and buyers aren't always online immediately. Give them 24–48 hours. If you believe the listing is a scam or the account is inactive, use the Report button on the listing.
How do I report a listing or user?
Tap the flag icon on any listing to submit a report. Our team reviews all reports and takes action within 24 hours.
I was scammed. What do I do?
Contact us immediately at hello@aquatrader.ca with details of the transaction. Also report the listing and the user through the app. For financial fraud, contact your bank and local police.
How do reviews work?
After a transaction, either party can leave a star rating and written review for the other. Reviews are public and help the community identify trustworthy members.
How do I change my password?
Go to Account → and use the "Forgot password" flow from the login screen, or contact us at hello@aquatrader.ca.
How do I delete my account?
Email us at hello@aquatrader.ca with your account email and we'll delete your account and all associated data within 7 business days.
